چکیده

Shrew is an animal belong to small mammals that the existence must be noticed because it has defecation behavior and their droplets often pollutes house. can vectors in spread of infectious diseases human. management not been conducted well. Information about most preferred bait effective rodenticide as a reference controlling widely known. Chemical control using rodenticides enough does take long time. The objective this research was obtain shrew preference types feed commonly consumed by human it. It used trapping poisoned which are management. Baits were cooked rice, white bread, Tenebrio larvae, cricket, chicken nugget, fish meatball, salted fish. Choice tests serving eight feeds one cage for seven consecutive days first test. Then, choose four prefered tested second Acute poison (zinc phosphide) chronic (coumatetralyl) mixed with feed, then served comparison third Result showed cricket therefore trap or bait. Moreover, other rice substitution if crickets difficult find. Zinc phosphide more than coumatetralyl kill relatively fast on time death.

Induction of emetic response to staphylococcal enterotoxins in the house musk shrew (Suncus murinus).

The emetic responses induced by staphylococcal enterotoxin A (SEA), SEB, SEC2, SED, SEE, SEG, SEH, and SEI in the house musk shrew (Suncus murinus) were investigated. SEA, SEE, and SEI showed higher emetic activity in the house musk shrew than the other SEs. SEB, SEC2, SED, SEG, and SEH also induced emetic responses in this animal model but relatively high doses were required. The house musk sh...

Comparative anatomical studies on the thyroid and thymic arteries. V. House musk shrew (Suncus murinus).

The thyroid and thymic arteries were investigated in 36 male and 36 female house musk shrews. The superior thyroid artery was constant. The artery arose, in the most instances, from the external carotid arteries. The artery, in about one fourth instances, sent both the superior and inferior branches supplying the gland and the former branch terminated in the superior and inferior laryngeal arte...

Effect of glucagon administration on kidney morphology in house shrew, Suncus murinus.

Glucagon has been reported to stimulate calcitonin release and to evoke hypocalcemia (Paloyan et al., 1967a, b; Avioli et al., 1969 ; Williams et al., 1969 ; Raman, 1970 ; Hollo et al., 1979 ; Swarup et al., 1979 ; Swarup and Srivastav, 1980 ; Swarup and Tewari, 1980). It also increases urinary excretion of calcium and other electrolytes (Staub at al., 1957 ; Elrick et at., 1958 ; Charbon at al...

Conditioned Flavor Preference and the US Postexposure Effect in the House Musk Shrew (Suncus Murinus)

The house musk shrew (Suncus murinus) is the only species of mammalian insectivore that can be domesticated and used as a laboratory animal, and is an interesting subject in terms of evolutionary and comparative aspects. The present study on the learning faculties of shrews examines the possibility of acquiring a conditioned flavor preference and the effects of US postexposure. Subjects were al...

A novel set of microsatellite marker loci linkage-mapped in the house musk shrew, Suncus murinus.

Ten microsatellite DNA loci developed for the white-toothed shrew (Crocidura russula) were tested for PCR amplification and for utility in linkage studies in the house musk shrew, Suncus murinus. Four primer pairs successfully yielded PCR amplicons and showed polymorphism between two mutant strains, BAN-kc,oeb and WZ. Cloning and sequencing of the PCR amplicons of all the four loci confirmed th...
